Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born at Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Paul Felix served as an ordained minister at Sun Valley at Master's Seminary. Marlean Felix taught at Balboa Magnet. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was apparent from the time she was enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After her first audition and placing among the top two athletes at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200 meters in just 10 weeks. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school signing a professional contract with the company that makes sports Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic gold at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record in the 200-meter race with a time of 22.18. In 2005, she was the youngest world champion of 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007, defeating her long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She consistently placed in the top three of all events.
