Allyson Felix

Allyson Michael Felix was a Los Angeles native born on November 18th, 1985. Paul Felix served as an ordinand in Sun Valley at Master's Seminary. Marlean Felix taught at Balboa Magnet. Felix discovered early that she was gifted to run when she was a student at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She came second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks after the first time she tried out. Felix signed a contract for a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003, and after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to study elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record the 200m race in 22.18 secs. In 2005, she became the world's youngest champion in 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007 beating her former Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top third in each event she competed in at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
